Chatillon Gripping Fixtures for Force Measurement

The Model GF-54 grips come in pairs and are designed for compressive three-point bend applications. Grips support unidirectional bending on rigid and semi-rigid materials. Grips mount using #10-32 thread mounting holes (provided).

Applications: Determining the flexural properties of light grade materials, etc...in the form of rectangular bars of standard or non-standard dimensions, molded directly or cut from sheets or other shapes.

The following properties can be determined:

• Flexural Stress at a given time of test
• Flexural Stress at the conventional deflection
• Flexural Stress at Maximum Load
• Flexural Stress at Rupture
• Apparent Modulus of Elasticity in Flexure (modulus of elasticity determined by flexure test)

This fixture has detachable, circular face plates made of hardened steel. A ball socket mounting screw helps keep upper and lower plates parallel and perpendicular to the applied force. Face plate diameter is 75mm (3 in). Hardened tool steel detachable face plate will accept specimens up to 3" diameter or any other shape specimen that will fit within a 3" diameter.  Capacity: 500 lb; Upper grip weight: 12-1/2 oz; Combined grip length:5-1/2"

Applications: Used to determine the adhesive characteristics of sealant, adhesive and mastic by measuring the minimum tensile stress necessary to detach or to rupture the coating

May be used for testing tension springs, punched specimens or securing odd shaped parts. Clevis pins have concave diameter to assure specimen centering and to secure pin in place while under load. Throat clearance with pin installed is 1/2" at centerline.  Throat width will accept specimens to 3/8". Capacity: 500 lb; Upper grip weight: 4 oz; Combined grip length: 3-5/8".

The model GF-2 Clevis Grips come in pairs and have a concave diameter that centers the specimen and secures the pins while under load. The throat clearance with the pin installed is 13 mm (1/2 in) at the centerline.
